The Zaantheater is the podium for Zaanstad and its surroundings and offers a wide, varied offer. From cabaret, opera, dance, musical, concerts, plays, to international shows and youth performances: there is something for everyone in the beautiful, modern building on the Zaan.
There are premieres of large national productions, but also projects for specific target groups such as the Children’s Book Week Festival and the Toddler Festival. For everyone who prefers to go out during the day there is the series Theater on the Tuesday afternoon. For anyone who prefers not to go out alone, there is a slide in with Samen. There are many activities for children and young people.
The Zaantheater is also a unique location for company parties, conferences and receptions and for performances by amateurs.
